How have you benefited from your service in the Navy Reserve?
The Navy Reserve has allowed me to proudly serve my country while being close to my hometown. I continually tap into my Navy experience to help youth in my community build solid, positive futures. The Reserve has also given me the opportunity to continue to reach my Navy career goals started while on active duty, like becoming a Naval Officer.
Why did you choose to join the Navy Reserve?
After I completed my active duty commitment, I wasn’t ready to leave my Navy experience behind. At the same time, I wanted the ability to earn my bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. The Navy Reserve provided a way for me to continue serving while attending college. A college degree is important if I want to achieve my goal of becoming a Naval Officer.
In my Navy…
I would like to see a female Secretary of the Navy before I retire.
